Mr. Edgardo Torres- is a former Deputy Secretary (December 2003) of the Puerto Rico Department of Economic Development and Commerce (DEDC) of the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico. While serving as Vice Minister, also served as General Manager of the development of a transshipment, Port of the Americas Authority. In 2004, Torres-Caballero joint Hewlett-Packard, in charge of Business Planning for the Ink Supplies Business in the Americas; later was promoted to a regional corporate position managing Public Sector Accounts and Corporate Affairs for Latin America. Torres was selected among the top 40 youngest business executives most successful before the age of 40 in Puerto Rico by the business journal, Caribbean Business, 2004 and was Awarded a recognition as a Successful Businessman 2007 from EL VOERO newspaper special edition November 2007
Most recently Torres served as Managing Director for European Software Start Ups wanting to develop operations in Latin America. He founded his own company and served as CEO until recently before joining Mambu as Managing Director for the Americas.
Edgardo has served as pro-bono contributor advising on economic development topics, is former -contributor with Hewlett Packard Laboratories on Information Communication Technology (ICT) for development initiatives and formerly served as member of various nonprofit organizations (ICT related), Chamber of Commerce, Public Corporations Board of Directors and Industry Associations.
Torres- has a BA on International Relations, Economics and Latin American studies of the Elliot School of International Affairs of the George Washington University in Washington, D.C. He took graduate courses in International Trade and Management in the Getulio Vargas Foundation in São Paulo, Brazil.
